Questions about host baking?

Here you will find answers to the most important topics.

Paste mixer: A paste mixer is needed to mix the dough of water and flour evenly and without lumps. Larger quantities of dough can be prepared without any problems.

Humidifier: After baking, the host cakes are dry and easy breakable. In order to be able to process them further, they must be moistened by using a humidifier. The right humidity is crucial for cutting out the hosts. If the host cakes are moistened to much, they stick together, if the host cakes are too dry, they break and crumble while cutting.
Carrying racks: Carrying racks or storage racks allow to transport the host cakes safely and hygienically without damaging them. In addition, the host cakes are evenly moistened by sorting them into the rack, which allows good further processing.

Host cutter or host cutting machine: These machines are required to give the hosts their characteristic round shape. Different diameters for the cutting devices are produced on a customised basis.

Temperature plays a decisive role when baking hosts. A temperature that is too high can cause the host cakes to burn, while a temperature that is too low will result in the host cakes not baking properly. Therefore, it is important to choose the right temperature and monitor it throughout the baking process.
